Camp High Hopes

Camp High Hopes

Camp High Hopes Incorporated is an independent, 501-c-3, not-for-profit summer camp organization serving the bleeding disorder community.  Every year, since being founded in 1986, Camp High Hopes Inc. has offered a Summer Camp Program one week each summer for boys ages 7 to 17 who have a bleeding disorder such as Hemophilia or von Willebrand’s disease.

This program is offered without any charge to the campers or their families thanks to the many generous donations that we receive.

Camp High Hopes week-long summer camp is held at Camp Aldersgate, located in the beautiful Adirondack Mountain Park in Upstate New York.

Text Box:      Our mission is to create a safe, fun experience for our campers, and by doing so give them a sense of community, and the opportunity to see what they can do.  This in turn nurtures the strength of character they will need to deal with their bleeding disorder and the rest of their lives.

Professional Attention

While bleeding disorders are serious, they are manageable.  Prompt treatment for bleeding episodes is available around the clock.  The Camp Infirmary is staffed by a pediatric nurse specializing in bleeding disorders, and other medical personnel.

The physical and emotional needs of the campers are attended to by our professionally trained health staff.  A full time, dedicated staff join our medical personnel in planning and supervising activities, and a large number of them are adults with bleeding disorders.  They bring a unique empathy to their work.  These staff members also help to show our campers that their bleeding disorder can be managed while living a full and active life.
